“Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.”
2015 seems to be a year of great men leaving us. All at Mightier Than the Sword have been deeply saddened today as another literary great has departed to join the choir invisible.
“Certain things have to happen before other things. Gods play games with the fates of men. But first they have to get all the pieces on the board, and look all over the place for the dice.”
Renowned not only for his incredible books, but his sense of humour, we cannot help but smile at how he dealt with suffering from Alzheimers and the attitude he approached the world with.
“If cats looked like frogs we’d realize what nasty, cruel little bastards they are. Style. That’s what people remember.”
But most importantly:
“No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away…”
RIP Sir Terry Pratchett, our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. We hope you find yourself in the good company of all those great men and women that came before you.
