Atlantis is the fourth operational space shuttle and took off on it’s maiden flight on 3rd October 1985, landing on 7th October 1985.

Atlantis embarked on it’s 33rd mission, it’s final mission that also happened to be the final mission of the NASA space shuttle program, on 8th July 2011.

By the end of it’s final mission, the Space Shuttle Atlantis had orbited the Earth a total of 4,848 times, travelling almost 126,000,000 miles.
